2026 shaped up to be a memorable year for not only football aficionados, but also fellow travellers of Altera. Despite troubling events around the world and its own controversies, the global event helped bring together people from all over the world, which is why we hosted our own fantasy World Cup to simulate syntopia on the pitch!

 

Atlas Altera's very own 2026 Men's Association Football World Cup was held in the wonderfully diverse heart of Gemina, hosted by six nations that previously shared plenty of their own off-field rivalries. The tournament was played out over the course of a month with live match simulations—upsets and nail-biting tiebreakers! These matches were complimented by original graphic content, as well as a community challenge in the form of simulated sportsbetting tournament, where winners had the chance to win real prizes.

How Did We Get Here?

In 2022, Atlas Altera hosted its own World Cup. Four years later, we reconvened around another epic tournament. This time, even more teams made it into the spotlight—128 nations faced off in Mesogemina. And as the tournament played out, casual fans and fellow travellers alike were able to witness dramatic upsets, ironic twists, and commendable trajectories.

Flanders took home the cup for the first time, but the fates of other teams are also sure to be memorialized. Argentina and the other giants of Platinea were shut out of the Round of 32, and for the first time in Men's Football World Cup history, an African nation made it to the Finals—an entire continent riding high with those most compelling players of Nubia.​

How to Play

  1. Maximum 5 submissions allowed per participant.

  2. Submission deadline is 21:00 PST on Monday, June 15.

  3. A winning card consists of a pattern of countries that move to the Group Stage in a designated pattern:

    • Line — 4 Group Stage countries in a row or column

    • Diagonal — 4 Group Stage countries in a diagonal line

    • Four corners — 1 Group Stage country in each corner
